HOUSE RULES Updated July 2022
Rule #1
Guest or visitors are limited to the common areas only and are not allowed inside the dormitory floors and rooms.
Dorm residents will be responsible and accountable for the acts of their guests or visitors while inside the dormitory premises.

The dorm residents should be properly dressed when receiving visitors in the lobby area.
Undershirts, boxer shorts, and pajamas are not allowed in the lobby and common areas.

Rule #3
The Dormus and Habitus Dormitories are unisex but floors are separated into male and female-only floors. Strictly no male dormers are allowed on the female floor/wing and vice versa.
A floor or a wing can be designated as a “co-op/family” floor or wing where siblings of different genders can occupy the same dorm units.

Rule #4
Smoking, drinking, use, or possession of alcoholic beverages, deadly weapons, firearms, firecrackers, explosives, poisonous and illegal drugs are strictly prohibited inside the dormitory premises.
Prohibited items will be subject to confiscation. Any violators of the above will render the contract terminated and will be asked to leave the dorm immediately. Any advance rent or security deposit will not be refunded and a fee might be imposed.

Rule #5
The dorm residents are required to bring personal effects and necessities, such as beddings (linens, blankets, pillows), towels, and toiletries.
Rule #6
Cash and valuable items (e.g. jewelry, watch, laptop, expensive consumer electronic devices, and, travel documents) should be secured and locked in their safety deposit box at all times.
The Management will not take responsibility for any loss or damages.
The dorm residents are asked to be responsible and vigilant in keeping these things locked and safe whenever they go out of the room.
Laptops and other electronic devices need to be secured or watched over at all times inside the rooms or in the common areas.
Cell phones and other electronic gadgets must not be left unattended at all times.
Rooms should always be locked at all times. No other dorm residents, guests, or visitors are allowed to enter the room except for bedspacers sharing the same room.

Ironing of clothes, use of candles, oil lamps, cooking of food with an open flame stove, and bringing in extremely flammable fluids or substances (e.g. firecrackers) are strictly prohibited.

Any room and UniPod alterations, like but not limited to, writing, painting, posting, installations of posters, locksets, and decors that will use nails or any permanent adhesive or glue that can damage the room and UniPod walls, beds, cabinets, ceilings and floors are not allowed.
Vandalism – defacing or damaging dormitory facilities, signages, and UniPods will not be tolerated. Any damage to the rooms and UniPods will be charged to the dorm residents.

Refrain from using the Emergency Fire Exit doors, except when the need for it arises.

Any disturbing and loud noise is prohibited at any time out of respect for those studying and sleeping.

Rule #12
Orderliness and cleanliness should be maintained at all times in the dormitory and its premises.
The dorm residents are requested to always observe good personal hygiene, cleanliness, sanitary practices and order inside the rooms.
Garbage and trash should be segregated and disposed of properly using the bins provided.
Leftover food should be disposed of properly to maintain the premises pest-free.
The toilet sink should never be used for dishwashing; there is a kitchen sink with a grease trap for this purpose.
Do not throw trash in the toilet to avoid clogging and the inconvenience it will cost you and your roommates.
Hanging of clothes, banners, and/or tarps in the windows is not allowed.

The Dorm Administrator must first authorize electrical gadgets/small home appliances to be brought in other than those agreed upon during the signing of the lease contract.
Unregistered electronic gadgets/small home appliances are subject to confiscation.
Only the following electrical gadgets/small appliances are permitted for use at the dormitory:
PCs / Laptops / Tablets / Printers / Personal Speakers/ TVs (Loud Speakers, Karaoke Machines, and Game Stations are not allowed)

Windows and doors should always be kept closed so as not to put additional pressure on the AC’s compressors which will lead to a shorter life span.
Residents are requested to help take care of operating the ACs to prevent breakdowns to avoid inconvenience.

All dorm residents are required to get their key card and key with a P1,000.00 deposit.
The deposit will be refunded after the dorm resident returns the key card and key. Fees may apply for key/key card replacement or reactivation.

Maintenance services and any other 3rd party services (e.g. meal border, laundry, etc.) should abide by UniPlace Dorm’s schedule, procedures and guidelines.

Rule #17
DORMUS/HABITUS is pet friendly and dorm residents are allowed to keep pets in their units provided submit a copy of vaccination card and the written consent from their 3 other roommates allowing them to keep their pet, and they are responsible for cleaning their pet’s waste and taking care of them. Common areas are pet friendly.

All dorm units are internet/telephone line ready. The dorm residents are responsible for the installation costs and monthly subscription fees.

For harmonious relationships, the dorm residents are directed to respect the privacy and property of one another. The dorm residents are advised to be considerate of their roommates’ feelings and circumstances. The dorm residents should never intrude into their roommates' space and moments of solitude nor take their belongings and food items.
Respect should be given to each other’s study periods and examination dates. The dorm residents should be considerate in the use of the room lights and avoid loud music or sounds when people are studying or are already asleep. The dorm residents should also be mindful, considerate and careful when using shared appliances with their roommates.

Management reserves the right to change, add and/or delete any rules from time to time to the betterment of the dormitory and its residents. The dorm residents’ comfort, safety and security are the management’s utmost concerns.
